Professional PAT Testing in Sheffield

Improve safety and stay compliant

Portable Appliance Testing (PAT Testing) is the process of ensuring that all electrical appliances and equipment in a residential or commercial setting are safe to use.
Inverteck can help landlords, office workers or other owners of professional spaces meet their health and safety obligations.

PAT Testing is normally carried out via a combination of visual examinations and electrical and electronic user tests. The law dictates that it must be conducted by a competent person, which is why it’s so important to find a professional company with bags of experience in the industry – such as Inverteck.

Why do I need PAT Testing?

It is a legal requirement for all employers to ensure that the electrical equipment in their place of work is maintained to a safe standard. The same applies to landlords looking to lease their property to tenants.
The nature of the testing and the frequency with which it must take place will vary depending upon the exact circumstances of the appliances in question and the environment in which they’re found. However, it’s a good idea to conduct thorough PAT Tests on an annual basis in order to ensure that all potential problems are detected well ahead of time, before they can develop into serious issues.

PAT Testing FAQ's

What does PAT Testing involve?

A thorough PAT Testing process will include a visual inspection of all of your appliances (including their plugs and leads), as well as electrical testing of their functionality. For Class I equipment, it will also involve the injection of test signals into the appliance to make sure it is stable and safe to use.

Who can carry out PAT Testing?

The law stipulates that all PAT Testing must be conducted by a competent individual. For that reason, it’s best to leave the job up to the professionals. The engineers at Inverteck have over 30 years in working with and testing electrical appliances and can supply you with a full report from our investigation.
